Tinguiririca Energía Joint Venture

History

Tinguiririca Energía is a Chilean hydroelectric generation company. It was founded in June 2004 under the name Tinguiririca Energía Joint Venture and is jointly owned by the Norwegian company Statkraft and the Pacific Hydro company owned by the Chinese State Power Investment Corporation (SPIC).

Its operations are concentrated in the Tinguiririca Valley, Libertador Bernardo O’Higgins Region, where its run-of-the-river hydroelectric plants, “La Higuera” and “La Confluencia,” are located. Both represented an approximate investment of US$ 600 million and contribute more than 325 MW to the national electrical coordinator (CEN), capable of supplying electricity to over 625,000 Chilean households.

Tinguiririca Energía is a Joint Venture composed of the companies Hidroeléctrica La Higuera S.A., Hidroeléctrica La Confluencia S.A., and La Higuera Transmisión S.A., dedicated to the generation, transmission, and commercialization of clean and sustainable energy.
